Sejda Alternative: How PDFLean Compares on Limits, Price, and Privacy

Konten ini belum tersedia dalam bahasa Anda.

Sejda is a favourite for occasional users because its free tier asks for no signup at all — so a Sejda alternative search is usually about one of its three hard limits, or about where the file goes. This page compares Sejda and PDFLean using only facts stated on each service’s own pages (Sejda’s pricing, tool, and security pages were checked 2026-10-29).

Quick answer: PDFLean is the strongest free Sejda alternative for everyday PDF work — 99 of its tools run entirely in your browser with no upload, no account, and no hourly task cap — while Sejda is a fast, honest, server-based toolkit whose free tier allows documents up to 200 pages or 100 MB at three tasks per hour, deleting everything after two hours.

For most everyday PDF jobs, PDFLean’s in-browser tools remove the three limits that define Sejda’s free tier — the page count, the file size, and the hourly task counter — because the work happens on your device and there is nothing for the service to meter. Of PDFLean’s 114+ tools, 99 run this way, with no signup required either; the 15 cloud tools exist for jobs that genuinely need a server, and each tool page states its mode before you start.

Sejda is the better pick when you specifically want its split-by-bookmark, split-by-text, or Bates workflows in a browser, or when you already own a Sejda Desktop license for offline use. Its limits are stated plainly on every tool page, which is a mark of an honest service — the comparison below is about architecture, not trustworthiness.

Sejda offers a similar range of tools on its website, plus a desktop application that processes files locally (per its FAQ: “Sejda Desktop … processes documents on your local computer, without uploading them to our servers”). PDFLean’s 114+ tools cover the same families — with 99 running in the browser, so the local path is the default rather than the product you pay extra for. Sejda’s split family is genuinely the best in this price range: split by bookmarks, split by text change, split by size, and split down the middle for A3 scanning work each solve a real problem that most converters ignore. PDFLean matches them with split by bookmarks and split by text in the browser, plus alternate mix for interleaved assembly — all free, all without the hourly counter.

Sejda’s free tier is stated directly on its tool pages: “Free service for documents up to 200 pages or 100 MB and 3 tasks per hour,” with no signup required (sejda.com, checked 2026-10-29). PDFLean’s browser tools carry no service-side page, size, or hourly limit — the boundary is your device’s memory, as the file limits page explains.

Sejda’s paid plans, listed on its pricing page (checked 2026-10-29): a Web Week Pass at $5 for seven days as a one-time payment, Web Monthly at $7.50 per user per month, and Desktop+Web Annual at $63 per user per year, with team volume discounts. Paid plans remove page and hourly limits, raise uploads to 500 MB per file, allow up to 21 minutes per task, and add multi-file processing and email support. PDFLean’s browser tools are free for everyone — a subscription only buys cloud capacity and AI credits for the server-side tools. Current amounts are on the Pricing page.

Sejda’s own FAQ is unusually direct: “Sejda Web are the online browser-based tools, where you upload your documents and process them on our servers.” Its tool pages add that files “stay private” and are “automatically deleted after 2 hours,” and its security page states documents are encrypted in transit and at rest and that employees do not access documents without consent. Sejda Desktop is the local path — same features, no upload — but it is a separate licensed product.

PDFLean’s browser tools are the local path: the file is read, processed, and written inside the tab, the network tab stays silent, and no server copy ever exists. The 15 cloud tools travel over TLS 1.3, are encrypted at rest with AES-256, and every result is deleted automatically after 24 hours — the same window for every account and plan. File content is never used for ads or model training.

Sejda’s split-by-bookmarks, split-by-text, and Bates tools are excellent, its two-hour deletion is stated openly on every tool page, and its Amsterdam team publishes a plain security page. If you process documents occasionally, don’t want an account anywhere, and the documents are fine to upload, the free tier is genuinely no-strings. If you want a desktop app with a one-time Week Pass, Sejda sells one.

When the document should not be uploaded at all, or when 200 pages, 100 MB, or three tasks an hour is smaller than your work. PDFLean’s browser tools do the same jobs without those limits, without a signup, and without a server journey — start with the splitter, the merger, or the compressor. When a job does need a server, the cloud tools say so up front and keep a single, published retention window.

Is Sejda really free without signup? Yes — its tool pages state a free service for documents up to 200 pages or 100 MB and 3 tasks per hour, no account required. Paid plans remove those limits.

Why does PDFLean not have an hourly task limit? Browser tools have no upload to meter. The counting that limits Sejda’s free tier exists because each task consumes server time; when the compute runs on your device, there is no server bill to ration.

Sejda deletes files after 2 hours. Is that as private as no upload? It is a good policy, but a two-hour window is still a window in which a server copy exists. Browser processing removes the window entirely — there is no copy to delete. The full model is on Privacy & Retention Model.

Does Sejda Desktop work offline like PDFLean’s browser tools? Both avoid upload; they differ in delivery. Sejda Desktop is a separate licensed application you install; PDFLean’s browser tools run in a tab and can be installed as a PWA — no separate product, no license key.

All browser tools, all free, no account: split a PDF, split by bookmarks, split by text, merge PDFs, compress, Bates numbering. If a job needs the server path — linearize a PDF, PDF/A validation — the tool page says so and the Pricing page lists what each plan includes. Nothing on this page requires an account to act on.
