Supports Word / Excel / PowerPoint / OpenDocument (ODT/ODS/ODP) / RTF / TXT / HTML / CSV / EPUB via high-fidelity LibreOffice conversion

What is it?Office Converter is a PDFLean cloud conversion tool: it covers the formats the browser-local tools cannot parse — legacy binary Office (.doc/.xls/.ppt), OpenDocument (ODT/ODS/ODP), RTF, EPUB, HTML and CSV — converting between them or unifying them to PDF with high-fidelity rendering by a server-side LibreOffice engine. Sign-in is required and each file counts as one T2 cloud task.

TL;DR: Cloud-based conversion for every Office and open-document format: legacy .doc/.xls/.ppt, ODT/ODS/ODP, RTF, EPUB, HTML, CSV, office-format interconversion, or unify everything to PDF — rendered with high fidelity by a LibreOffice engine. Sign-in required; each file counts as one T2 cloud task (the free tier allows 3 tasks per 24-hour window; paid plans unlimited under fair use). Files are processed in an isolated sandbox over an encrypted channel and deleted as soon as the conversion finishes. For common .docx/.xlsx/.pptx jobs and PDF-to-Word/Excel, use the browser-local tools first — free, no upload.

A cloud converter for the formats browser-local tools cannot parse: legacy Office (.doc/.xls/.ppt), OpenDocument (ODT/ODS/ODP), RTF, EPUB, HTML, CSV, plus Office-format interconversion — all rendered by a LibreOffice engine on an isolated server. Sign-in required; each file counts as one T2 cloud task (the free tier allows 3 tasks per 24-hour window; paid plans unlimited under fair use); single-file cap 25 MB. Key limitation: fidelity is bound by LibreOffice's support for each format, and PDF-to-Office conversion is best-effort because PDF is a fixed layout — text and paragraph order are kept while complex layouts degrade.

About this tool

This tool does one job: convert between Office and open-document formats — or unify them to PDF — with high fidelity on an isolated server. It complements the browser-local converters: for the common cases (.docx/.xlsx/.pptx to PDF, PDF to Word or Excel) run Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, PowerPoint to PDF, PDF to Word, or PDF to Excel locally — no account, no upload, free. This tool covers what those cannot parse: legacy .doc/.xls/.ppt, ODT/ODS/ODP, RTF, EPUB, HTML, and CSV, plus Office-to-Office conversion. Requests travel over an encrypted channel to an isolated conversion sandbox; each call uses its own temp directory and LibreOffice profile, temp files are deleted as soon as the conversion finishes, and the result is returned inline without persistent storage. Sign-in is required and each file counts as one T2 cloud task (the free tier allows 3 tasks per 24-hour window; paid plans unlimited under fair use).

How to use

2

Pick a target format — PDF by default

3

Click "Convert" and download the result

FAQ

Is my file safe?

Your file travels over an encrypted channel to an isolated conversion sandbox on a standalone server. Each call gets its own temp directory and LibreOffice profile; temp files are deleted as soon as the conversion finishes, the result is returned inline, and nothing is kept, used for training, or redistributed.

When should I use the local tools instead of this one?

For the common formats (.docx/.xlsx/.pptx to PDF, PDF to Word or Excel) the browser-local tools are the better first choice — no account needed, files never leave your device, free of charge. This tool is the cloud option for everything those cannot parse: legacy binaries (.doc/.xls/.ppt), OpenDocument (ODT/ODS/ODP), RTF, EPUB, HTML/CSV, and conversion between Office formats.

Are there any limits?

Cloud conversion requires sign-in; each file counts as one T2 cloud task from your plan's shared allowance (the free tier allows 3 tasks per 24-hour window; paid plans unlimited under fair use). The single-file cap is 25 MB — see the on-page limits.

Does the conversion keep the original layout?

Office/ODF interconversion and conversion to PDF aim for high fidelity; reverse PDF-to-Office output is text/structure-level because PDF is a fixed layout: wording and paragraph order are kept, while complex layouts (multi-column, mixed text and images) fall back to a content stream, which the page warns about in advance.

Can I process multiple files in bulk?

A single tool page handles one task at a time; for bulk work use the Batch Processing workflow and add this tool as a step to run a whole set at once.

Is the processed file still editable?

When the output is an editable format (e.g. docx/xlsx) you can keep editing it in Office or similar apps; PDF output is for viewing, sharing and printing — edit the source document and convert again if changes are needed.
